Today was church and I went to Michele's house for dinner. Auntie Jean, Greg and Cherie came over to visit. Elder D couldn't come because he was at family camp in Wawona (Yosemite).

Michele fixed my hair in long curls, and she also did Ranele's.

I stayed over night and we didn't go to sleep until 12:00.

I had fun.

June 2
Today was Sunday and we had to do the washing. That took all morning. In the afternoon we went to L's to play with the kittens. We could only stay for 15 minutes. One of the kittens "Lady Bug" looked just like a cat I used to have "Snowball". He was so cute.

On the way back we stopped to show Ranele the Monastery and some boys who were rowing a boat told us how to get in, but we didn't have a flashlight.

At 3:00, I went home and goofed off.

June 3
Today was Monday, yuck. Oh well, it's the last week of school - yeah! It was blah though.

I have poison oak all over my face from Friday because some hit me in the face (duh).

I didn't have to do P.E. because I left my uniform at home.

We were going to go to the Monastery, but we couldn't. I don't think we ever will.

My mom was in a really bad mood tonight. She was making me sick. Oh well.

June 4
Today was Tuesday and I had to have a piano lesson. The last one for the year - yeah! I asked my teacher to get me a "Blue Danube Waltz" - sheet music - a harder version.

Everthing is graduation and studying for final tests.

After school tonight, we went to a swimming party at Jon's. Afterwards we ate. We had an Enchilada -Taco feed. Jon had some grape juice (grape juice in a wine bottle). I didn't have any. The food was delicious.

June 5
I must have gotten off a few days - because today is Friday - Oh well. All we did was have tests and blah. And everybody getting mad at you. I can hardly stand it. Oh well only 1 1/2 days left. Thank goodness.

Jackie is so mad at me she could die (I think it's funny). And I can't stand Michele - she makes me sick.

June 6
Today was church and I went. I was Superintendent. At home I just goofed off all afternoon, but I put up my bulletin board on Hawaii, because my cousins are coming from there soon.

Tonight they had skating and nobody was there, so I imitated Stanley - a guy who can't skate very well. Afterwards, Bob, a guy who goes to recreation, was teasing me. He even called me his girlfriend (whoopie). He really skates good and fast. So I guess we match, except he's too old (18 or 19). He chased me in his pickup - really stupid, you know.

June 7
Today was Sunday and I cleaned my room up all day. Cheryle asked me to come to her house in the afternoon, so I did. We just goofed off.

Tonight was class night and me and Cheryle walked to Mr. H's house. It was sorta fun. Staci is soo cute, so is Timmie and he was letting everybody hold him and he talked so cute. But I got sorta sick. Well, I guess I had better go.

P.S. Mr H took me on his motorcycle. It was fun. He kept on jerking it, and I almost fell off.

Well today was the last day of school and they had all the track and field events. I didn't participate. We got out of school at 12:00 and I got my hair done at 2:00 for graduation. It's all in long curls. I love it.

Well, tonight was the big night. Mr B took my pictures - 7 of them. Uncle Winnie spoke. It was OK.

The reception was fun. Jimmy is leaving tonight for the mission field (Phillipines), and everbody was kissing him, especially Tracy. I didn't though.

My sewing machine came in - just in time. Oh I love it. I also got a pincussion from Mrs. F (Home Ec teacher - and Michele's mom), and a bottle of perfume from Debra. It smells real good. Well bye from a big night.

June 10
Today was Wednesday and I had to get up at 6:45 to go to my job - picking berries (Ollalie) - yuck. The berries are really terrible. I'm going to try to get a job someplace else. I only got 6 at $.75/crate. the berries are so bad, they can't be used for Market - they have to be used as freezer berries. Everybody else got only 5 crates, so I did pretty good, I think.

We got groceries tonight and then I got my diploma and report card. I did pretty good. I think I got my diploma first.

Today was Thursday and we had to pick berries again. yuck. It was really terrible today, all we did was goof off. I only picked 4 crates. I'd better do better tomorrow, although I'm only picking for half a day.

I don't think I have anything else to say. I didn't go to recreation tonight, because I didn't feel like it.

Today was Friday and I picked 4 crates in the morning. We only picked in the morning. All I did was goof off.

My cousins are coming tomorrow and Jerry and Rosalie aren't coming though - shoot. Oh well, maybe on the way back. Well, at least Nellie (Natalie) is coming.

Today was church and my counsins came from Hawaii at 9:10. They dropped us off at church so early, I was really mad.

I like Johnny best this time, because Jerry couldn't come. He's in Hawaii picking pineapples. He really wanted to come though.

Today was Monday and I had to go pick currants (yuck). Oh well, it was fun. I saw a lot of guys from last year. Matthew, he's really neat. I like him. And this new guy named Jon. He's really cute, but nasty. He calls me "sexy". I came home and we p (didn't finish and crossed most of this entry out)

Sorry I haven't written. I just didn't feel like it.

I got some material on Wednesday for two pair of pants and two blouses. So I made a pair of pants this morning and I went to Susan's because we went to the beach. We had fun there, just Mike (Sue's boyfriend), Sue and me. Sue got really burned, but I didn't too bad. I've got a good tan on my lower arms and face.

Some stupid man at the beach lost his pants - it was really funny.

Ugh berries again.

Jon and Henry didn't come - surprise! It was kinda fun without them - it was the end of the patch - so we just goofed off. I only got three crates. I also got a really bad burn on my shoulders and legs.

We got off at 2:30, so I went to Donna's house until 3:45.

Today was Friday and we had a math test - only one more chapter left - yeah!

We didn't have to go to chapel, I went home and ate and then we left for the camporee. We sat in the back seat and then we followed Dr. S. We stopped and got a drink too. We got there at 6:30 or so. It took us 4 1/2 hours. We left a little after 12:00. I wanted to change my clothes, but Mr. A wasn't back yet, so we pitched our tent anyway. We went to campfire, but it was boring. It sure is hot up here. I think I could roast. We're at Lolly Pop Ranch by Porterville.

May 2
Today was church and Michele and I had K.P. (kitchen police). We went to church and boiled. Me and Mike (a punk from Los Gatos) were throwing things with David V. We had church at the lake. Blah. I read a book.

The gang (Michele, Ranele, and me) had to get water at a creek.

Then we got Donna and went spying and we met these cool guys named Paul and Randy (brothers). Then we went wading in the creek.

Campfire and then bed. I saw Dennis (see April 25). I talked to him. He's cool. He has firecrackers.

May 3
Today was Sunday, so we had all the events. We won first place in everything except for 1 second place. We talked to Randy for an hour. He's cool, but not cute. He's from West Valley. He is a 9th grader.

The gang went off boundaries and these boys came along, so we jumped in these bushes and they were scared so they said we were off boundaries to scare us, and they were off boundaries themselves!. They were scared too.

Dennis gave me a firecracker. I like him pretty much. Tommy from West Valley likes Michele. He's really a creep and we were making him so jealous. There was this guy, he looked like the guy on "Summer Magic". Linda from Kings Canyon (same as Dennis) went wading with us. We left at 2:45 and this guy kept waving at us, so we waved back. We got home at 7:30. We had a blast!

School - yuck! I wish I were back at camp - even if it was hot!

In Living we practiced for investiture tomorrow. Boy do I have a sunburn, but it's starting to tan.

Michele came over and trimmed my hair (finally). I went and visited grandma because she was so worried.

Today was Tuesday and in recess I played volley ball with the seventh graders, but I gave up. I can't stand Otis - I wish he would flake off.

Michele came over and we were goofing off over here at my house.

Today was investiture and I got my Explorer's pin - it's black. We gave our first aid act with Jackie falling off the chair while Michele and I got the stretcher. One lady thought she was dead and was going to help us!

Today was Wednesday and all Michele can do is draw castles. But they're good.

In choir we sang a real cute song of when a little boy said his prayer.

In Home Ec we had to talk in the tape recorder to see how we can improve our voices. My voice is awful. Yuck.

I took a bath this afternoon.

Today was Thursday and I had to have song service for Kathy.

I'm going to try to get Dennis's address.

We had to go to choir. Yuck.

We played volley ball in P.E. and after that Michele came to my house and we read books.

I went grocery shopping tonight and got all kinds of things and then I went to recreation and played games with Michele. Well I'd better go now.

May 8
Today was Friday - finally.

In chapel we saw a movie on drivers safety. It was sorta blah.

Cindy and Cindy went out of the school grounds without permission and they got into trouble and they act like they didn't do anything wrong.

We had a test in history.

I baked a cake again today.

Today was church and I had to go to Watsonville because the choir had to sing there. They made me have opening prayer. Yuck.

We went to visit grandma this afternoon. Then I read the "Guide" and "The Road to Bithynia"

They showed a movie tonight to pay for the choir robes "The Legend of Lobo". I have read the book. It was really good.

May 10
Today was Mother's Day and me and mom got grandma a card and some sachet for her room. Then I gave mom a bath robe after dinner. All afternoon I put away stamps. Then at six o'clock, my brother caught a bird with a broken wing. We gave it to a boy who has a whole lot of birds.

At 7:00 we went to Sue's where I met Mike, their paperboy. Sue always talks about him. He's OK. We watched the "Scarecrow" it's REAL good.

May 11
Today was Monday again, yuck! I could probably count this as the most boring day in History.

At Pathfinders we had to sell candy again. We sold Mr. H 4 bars (we made him take some). Most of the kids sold all their candy. We didn't. We got half a candy bar, a kite from Uncle Winnie, and 10 packs of gum for selling the candy. I'm chewing a pack of gum right now!

Today was Wednesday. Mrs. H is having her baby (finally), so Mr. H was gone all day - we had Mr H (the principal) (yuck) bore.

In Home Ec, we had to record our voice again. We have to make a book on hair styles now (ugh).
The police came and gave a demonstration today on safety. I watched a little of it. It was dumb.

I made a bulletin board in my room today. It's cute.

May 14
Today was Thursday and Mrs H. had her baby at 7:47 last night. It weighed 8 lbs 8 oz. It was a girl. Her name is Staci Lynn.

We had a test in First Aid today. I think I'll pass, but you never know.

Me and Cheryle rode the bus all around the route. My first time with Mr. H, then we made shortcake etc. and went to recreation (it was sorta blah).

Today was Debra's birthday.

Today was Friday and Mr H went to pick up his wife at the hospital.

It was so HOT today - I couldn't even stand it - neither could anybody else.

Debra gave me a piece of her birthday cake.

Ron was sick today - what peace there was.

It was so hot and I had to bake a cake - brother I was hot! I even took a cold bath - it felt sooooo gooooodddd!

Well I guess I had better go now.

May 16
Today was Sabbath and the Pathfinders went up to the Pinnacles for church.

After lunch we went to the caves and cooled off. We had a blast exploring it because we went in all the secret passageways.

I went home with D's because I'm going to Debra's house. We went to Pinto Lake and this guy who picked berries last year followed us -he's yucky. We went wading and played on the swings.
We watched a movie called "The Stooge" It was funny. I went to bed at 11:30

May 17
At 3:00 this morning, this guy called Diane (Debra's older sister) and was asking her all these personal questions like "do you wear short dresses and are you sexy, etc." Boy were we scared.

At 12:30 we went back to Pinto Lake and played baseball. Then we went swimming up to our necks. I saw Matthew - a guy who picked berries last year. I talked to him for awhile. He's kinda cute.

At 8:00 a neighbor was having a baby and she called the ambulance. She had it 15 minutes after she got to the hospital. It was a girl. She left her kids and they yelled for half an hour. Finally the lady's sister came.

Today was Monday again (yuck)

The rocks are out of the tumbler we bought in November (second batch). They turned out better than the last batch.

I hate school (goodie). Only 3 weeks left. I hope I make it. I wish I could get sick for one week. That would be boss.

Tonight was Pathfinders. Next week is the last week and we are having a hobo party.

Today was Tuesday and Mr. H finally gave us our cigars (bubblegum).

We chose somebody to be chair. for planning class night. Chairman Cindy Z. I'm glad because Jan can help her.

I made my hairdo book for Home Ec today - it's pretty good. (brag brag).

The piano recital is Sunday at 7:30 and I don't know my songs! I'm sorta worried.

Today we went grocery shopping and I got a BIG beach towel with Raggedy Ann on it. I also got a graduation present for Michele and Debra.

Today was Wednesday aand last week we bough Elder B's deaf and dumb mute son a small rock tumber and he, Elder B, on a telephone call - thanked us. His son goes to a deaf high school in San Jose.

In Home Ec Michele fixed my hair. It was OK. Kathy's hair was really cute - in long curls (like I want mine for the graduation.)

Today was Thursday and Mr H brought his old school pictures to school. He looked weird.

We had to take an English test today. It was real easy though.

I hate Lynn, Kim, and that's all because in PE, I pitched and everybody yells at you if you miss the ball and they don't do so hot themselves!

I went to recreation tonight and everybody was yelling as usual - so I went for the ball and I tripped all over Billy - how embarassing, because I can't stand him. (ha! ha!)

May 22
Today was Friday, goodie - only two more weeks of school left. I hope I make it.

In chapel we played volley ball and the boys played baseball and we couldn't play as usual.

I had to practice for the recital today. Yuck, I can't play at all.

I can't think of anything else to say - on the bottom of the page a drawing of a big square box - with a note beside it that says "in case I think of something"

Today was church and Michele came over to our house for dinner afterwards. We looked at some of my brother's magazines and we got tired of that so we did the crayon art - we got tired of that so we went to the gym and played on the ropes - we got tired of that so we played the piano - we got tired of that so I played and she sang - we got tired of that so we snooped in the Home Ec room - we got tired of that so we wrote a letter to a guy in Germany and mailed it, then we snooped in the Dorcas and tried the keys and found one that fit, but parents came, so we had to leave (they didn't find out). Then we went for a walk and watched a movie at school "Pedro and the Dancing Chiahuaha" It was good.

May 24
Today was Sunday and I just goofed off all morning. In the afternoon, we went to the Antique fly-in at Watsonville and this little airplane was really good (acrobatics). Before he went up, I was hoping I could go with him, but I'm glad I didn't.

Note: a few years later this same plane and the driver were killed during a practice exercise.

Ewww, I saw Jon, the guy in the berry field who told me I had a good figure. He's really sick.

Tonight was the piano recital. Everyone was soooo good. I was REALLY scared. But I didn't make any mistakes. EVERYBODY complimented me and I wasn't good at all. Even Mrs P (my piano teacher) and Mrs V (especially) and Mrs H (the principals wife) complimented me (I'll get conceited).

May 25
Today was Monday and the 9th and 10th graders went on a field trip so we didn't have them, but we had two History classes (yuck). We played baseball for 1 1/2 hours and it was really OK. Then at PE time we played the seventh graders.

Tonight was the last Pathfinder meeing till next school year. We had a hobo party down at the beach. I wore my dad's clod hoppers, two different pairs of socks, my dad's big pants rolled up and a huge hankie. When we go there we went on the warpf and went scrounging in the trash cans. Then when we ate, our cups were old tin cans. We found some whiskey and talked about it for an hour with Steve and Stephen (Donna was sure jealous). We were all acting drunk, etc.

May 26
Today was Tuesday and I have to have piano. I got two new songs and one is one Greg is having as well.

At 1:00 the Mountain View band played. It was really good. Before that, I saw this guy staring at me and I thought I knew him - and then I said "It's Randy!" Wow! I didn't expect to see him. I talked to him too.

I got kicked out of Living for expressing my views on graduation and Randy came and talked to me. (whoopie). I could say more, but I don't have room.

Today was the school picnic. We had it at De Laveaga Park this year. Harvey West park is better.

In the morning we went for a hike, but Michele, Debra and I ditched them and went back and goofed off. Then we ate and took a whole bunch of potato chips and cookies. We went for another hike and found a cave and ate the food. Then we went on up to the look-out. It was really neat.

We went to W High School and got workers permits and then we went to Gurney's Berries to get our summer jobs.

I went to recreation and goofed off. It was ok.

Today was Friday and we didn't go to school.

Jackie came over and we went to Michele's. We were going to explore an old Monastery. We waded at S Creek and found a tunnel - we thought it was a secret entrance to the Monastery, but it wasn't.

We went up to the Monastery and explored the outside. It was real neat. I wish we could go inside. Roy M did and he said it was cool.

Today was April Fools Day. Ron was the April Fool in our room (who else?). I had to go to choir, yuck! I'm going to be in our church choir - that's three choirs I will be in (8th grade, 9 & 10 grade, and church!

I don't have even one paper missing in math (surprise).

I finished "Dunbar's Cove" today.

The 9th graders said that somebody poured Ajax all over and moved the clock, and hid the podium, and papers. It was funny.

I saw the (part) boy choir it was OK at the meetings tonight. I get a Uke for my birthday!

April 2
Today was Thursday and tomorrow we have a Living test, yuck. and I haven't studied. Oh no! I've got to pass!

Today in Reading, I was putting my art on the test and stupid old EW told me to sit down, but I didn't, so he told me to go outside, so I did and he asked me when I wanted a whipping and I said "after school", so he told me to go to the office, so I had to stay there through the whole period. I didn't get a whipping, but he told the class I was the first girl he would give a whipping to. It was funny. I had a BLAST at recreation. "My song" is "Lollypop"

Today was Friday, thank goodness.

We got out of the Living test because we gave Mrs. H a baby shower (our teacher's wife). I think she enjoyed herself. We got her a carrier, a quilt, and a diaper bag. She needed them all. Mrs. H takes care of a boy named Mark (today was his birthday - he was 1). He was so funny.

At church tonight, a boy in the seventh grade sat by me. He said he liked me in a note. He's ugly, but he's funny and O.K., not stupid and dumb like Ron. (* go to back of book) *Otis.

April 4
Today was church, and I went home with Cheryle. We had fun even if we did have to do the dishes. Then we went for a walk where we met this dog and it charged me, but got cherlye. Boy were we scared. We went for a drive to the Boardwalk where we watched the people. Cheryle's parents like to do that.

April 5
Today was Sunday and I have a big old blood blister on the bottom of my foot.

I goofed off all morning and fixed my sandals.

This afternoon, I went with Cheryle to decorate for the birthday potluck. It's real neat, they have twelve tables, one for every month and then a person decorates them - cool. I went there tonight. I sat at August, even if my birthday is in July.

April 6
Today we started Week of Prayer. MBA has it. It was pretty good. I was supposed to get my Uke today, but the store was closed.

The boy (* Otis) in the "you know what" room was sick today, so I told somebody to tell him to "get well"

Tonight was pathfinders and we had to go sell candy. I didn't have to talk so that was good. We came to Mike's house - it's real nice. I didn't know he wasn't a member of our church. I just took it for granted that he was. He's gone to our school ever year. We made $6.00 (Cheryle and me). I jump roped 298 times - Michele did 406.

April 7
Today was Tuesday and I got my uke - it's just like Cheryle's. Now all I have to do it get a book.

My dad paid the dollar for the camping trip on Saturday. The boy (*Otis) from the seventh grade is going.

Tonight was the PE program - it was terrible. I didn't have to do anything, but be referee and Mr H. did that. Oh yes, I had to have prayer - yuck. It was terrible. Mr H goes "lucky you" like he always does - oh well.

April 8
My mom says I can't go to Illinois with Debra, but I'll try to persuade her to let me. We had choir practice at 12:30 instead of Home Ec., and I wanted to get my dress done. Oh well.

In PE the girls always unsnap your PE suits - It's so maddening - especially in front of the boys.

I have my choir robe picked out 45 inches (I think).

Mom has a small ulcer and that's all she thinks or talks about.

Boy, I'm sure sleepy and it's only 7:45. Oh well.

April 9
Today was Thursday and a smart (dumb) guy named Ted from MBA had the Week of Prayer. He talks Hippie language.

In reading we played a 12 minute baseball game.

In P.E. we also played baseball.

Cheryle is spending the night tonight, so we fixed some tacos - it was fun. We went to recreation and I played Billy 88:90 in ping pong because we didn't want Otis to play. Otis is going to teach me how to play the guitar and Uke. Bi

April 10
Finally, today was Friday, and it was the last day of Week of Prayer by the MBA group.

Cheryle came home with me and had dinner with us and Otis let me borrow his book on how to play the guitar for my Uke. I just use the last three strings.

At 12:30 we went to practice for our tomorrow's choir thing. I wore a size 45 robe (so did Donna) and I had to stand by Greg. I came home and baked some brownies. I hope they're good.

April 11
Today was church and I had to play the piano, but there were so many people the 8, 9, and 10th grade choir sang for church and Otis sat on the second row. He said he was going to give me a guitar (Uke) lesson.

Tonight we had the Student-Faculty basketball game - students won (of course) then the LLU choir sang - it was OK. Then the movie "Summer Magic". It was real good.

I went on the Pathfinder campout, but the boys and girls didn't sleep close, so I didn't get the guitar lesson after all.

April 12
I didn't sleep very well last night - I froze. We camped at the campgrounds. The boys came over before we went to the beach, and we got to talk to them. Then we went on a walk to see the horses, it was sorta fun. We had corn dogs for dinner (yum), then the boys came back, but they didn't stay very long.

The clan (Michele, Cheryle, Ranele, and me) went to a cave where the boys had been, but we couldn't find it. When we came back all four of us got in the trunck and we got Michele's mom shook up.

I saw Walt Disney etc. It was good.

April 13
Yuck, today was Monday. We made $152.78 on that movie - not counting what we have to take off.

Surprise! I got 83 on the Living test over 135, so I got a C (or B). I rode the bus tonight too.

We had Pathfinders tonight, even if we did have a campout.

We practiced jumping rope - I did 200 and Michele did 798 (I think).

Steve B wants Otis to get jealous of him, so he called me up and asked me if I would do something that starts with a K. He also wants me to get rid of Cheryle.

The lady almost has my vest done.

April 14
I got 45 out of 50 on my unit 6 History test, but it was really easy.

I had to pitch in baseball. I'm on Loraines team.

In Religion, we had to taste these things to see you're a "taster" or a "non-taster". I'm a "taster" - so is my dad and brother. my mom and grandparents are "non-tasters"

Otis made a radio - it's kinda weird (of course - he's weird anyway) it has three speakers - but I didn't get to see it well.

April 15
Today was Wednesday, and we had to take a stupid old math test. I didn't do about 6 of them. (I didn't have time).

In Home Ec, I only got a B- and I think I should have gotten a better grade than that - oh well.

I rode the bus again tonight. It was ok.

Otis called me three times tonight, and he was kinda making me sick, he's so funny!

I got a blouse for the jumper I made in Home Ec. and a sweater. the old lady finished my vest - I really like it. I got an ice cream tonight.

Today was church, and the youth had class and church - so we all sat in the main auditorium.

I got a book today "Twelve Angels from Hell". It's good - another one by Davie Wilkerson.

We went for a ride down by the beach, then we came back. I let Murtle swim around for awhile, etc.

April 19
Today just wasn't my day. First of all my mom bawled me out about my room and sassing her, etc. So she said I couldn't get the suitcase.

Then at the flea market, I dropped a goblet and broke it, but I didn't have to pay for it.

Then I came home and Murtle was gone. We looked everywhere for her. Then I accidently stepped on her. I thought she was dead - so I cried for an hour. But she's not dead.

At the Science Fair - Otis kept on getting me things, etc. Then I had to be in a Home Ec fashion show - showing the dresses that we made. It was absolutely horrid! I helped in the fish pond - that was fun.

April 20
Today was Monday and there wasn't any school because of Parent-Teacher Conferences. I got pretty good grades. I got a B- in math. I think that is the best I have EVER done!

I went to Jody's house today and we went to the Aptos Pet Shop and looked at the animals.

In the afternoon, we walked to the beach (1 mile), but it was windy - so we came back.

We watched a real cool movie "The Endless Summer" on surfing. These boys followed the summer around the world searching for the perfect wave, which they found - it was cool. Makes me want to learn how to surf.

Today was Wednesday and I didn't have to go to choir because we saw a movie on first aid.

Otis came and picked me up this morning and walked me home. I don't like him as well as I did.

In Home Ec, Mrs. F had Mrs. B give a lecture on how to be a lady etc. It was ok.

Me and my mom are planning a trip to Yosemite one of these weekends. We will go by bus and sleep in a Motel. I would rather go by car and sleep in a tent. Oh well.

Today was church and we had it in the gym at school because it was the 50th Anniversary. The choir had to sing - it was sick - everyone said so.

Well, Cheryle, Susan and I went on our 10 mile hike from Loma Prieta - Where Debbie S used to live. I'm dead.

Tonight was the 50th anniversary program. Mr M (The one that spanked Cheryle and Michele). it was OK.

Otis kept hanging around me - making me sick. I can't stand him. We met this guy named Dennis - we kept waving at him.

Today was Sunday and all I did was goof off - reading a book or two. Grandma is going to be put into a Nursing Home this week.

I played the Uke and then went to watch the movie "Almost Angels" at Susan's "Walt Disney". It was goof. Fredy is so cute - his real name is Dennis. He looks kinda like Dennis E - he's real cute too.

Today was Monday and I got 73 on the Religion test, which is a B. Pure luck, but it was an easy test.

We get to sit down in choir now - surprise!

In P.E. we got to do whatever we wanted to, so we played jump rope - it was ok.

In Pathfinders, we were playing spy outside - it was real cool

Mrs. V ended up taking me home because I was so scared!

Michele, Ranele and I get to sleep in Mrs. V tent - it's going to be really fun!

She took us shopping for the food for the camporee. What a blast. We aren't going to sleep with her after all because all the counselors are.

Today was Tuesday. It was the usual drag - Religion (test), Math (study for big test tomorrow), Spelling, English (test), Music (choir with Mrs. P yelling), Lunch (blah - Jackie pee'd her pants), First Aid - practice for investiture, Reading (SRA and EW yelling), History (nothing), P.E. (workup). We had to give worship for the little kids. I had second grade - I played the piano.

Today was Wednesday and we had the big Conference test. It was really easy - then we went out and played volley ball during math class. Our side won (naturally)

Grandma went to the Nursing Home today and griped all day they say. In Home Ec, we had a test from what Mrs B talked about last week.

Today was Thursday. Religion (Missionary Volunteer (M.V.) cards (I'm done), Math (study for test tomorrow), Spelling - English (same blah), Music (Mrs. P reading about Mozart), Recess (cheered for our team volley ball ( playing for a party)), First Aid (quiz), Reading (blah), History (went to the library to work on report), P.E. (baseball - I caught a fly ball), Afternoon (played baseball with Doug, Troy, and another boy and me - Troy and I won 7-0.

Today is Sunday and I started making my dress, but I got stuck on the collar. I finished the vest. Sue came over at 3:00 and we skated until 5:00. At 5:30 we took my brother to a party.

Dad and I went to the Lundy's to watch TV. We got tired of that, so John and his sister and I went outside to watch the stars (ha! ha!). We looked at houses on their 300 power telescope. Man everything looks cool. I thought I saw somebody, but perhaps not.

Babe (my cat) is exploring. She tried to get Murtle (my turtle), but I hit her. Well bi.

March 2
Today was Monday, with the same old drag. Mrs. P was there so we had choir.

This afternoon I had to write that stupid old theme for stupid old M.R. G. I rode the bus home tonight, cause stupid Ron was going to call and ask me a question, that I would answer NO to. He did call too - three times - so I'm glad I wasn't home!

I went to Pathfinders even if I didn't want to. We had soap craft. I like Stephen, the new pastor's son. He's in the seventh grade. He's cute. I said bi to him (whoopie) he doesn't like me.

Today was Wednesday. In Home Ec. I let Susan use my sewing machine, cause I felt sorry for her, so I didn't get mine done. We had to ref. for P.E. cause we are out of the tournament (good).

I got a letter from the San Diego zoo on how to feed my turtle.

We went up town to get some things and I took Murtle in the store. Bi.

March 5
Today in choir, I was so mad cause I always stand on the bottom and I sing better on the top. My stupid dress is sick. I go the collar in right - but it is still wrong, so I have to cut some more and start all over. It makes me so mad.

We bought groceries tonight and I got Murtle some ground beef too. Bi.

March 6
Today was Friday, thank goodness. I made it through the day.

I made an applesauce cake with caramel apple frosting that tastes like caramel with the apples - delicious.

The meetings at church started tonight, they were good.

I had Murtle under my pillow and I was going to bed and forgot all about her, when I remembered, I was kinda scared. But she's OK. then I had to write in here. bi.

March 7
Today was Church and I had to play the piano (as usual). I'm superintendent next week. Tracy showed slides for our lesson today. At 2:00 Michele called and said she got a letter from Bernd (her penpal from East Germany). He isn't too good looking, but his letters are cute. Then we went and passed out papers for the meetings.

I went to the meetings again tonight, they were about Daniel's dreams and heaven. It was real good.

March 8
Today, I had to clean my room. My mom still wasn't satisfied. Then she helped, I should say yelled, at me over the dress. But she put the collar on for me. I helped a tiny bit. I'm going to wear it tomorrow. I love it. I wrote to Evar today and to a girl in the Phillipines.

I fed Murtle his new diet today. He didn't eat very much.

I went to the meetings tonight. Me and Michele went downstairs and looked at some slides for the lesson.

March 9
Today was the 8th grade field trip. It was OK. We went to the church administrative offices in San Jose and then we went to the rose gardens to eat. But they weren't in bloom. We then went to the Rosecruiscian museum of Egypt. It had all kinds of mummies and trinkets from tombs. They showed us through the tomb of a nobleman. It was good, even for a replica. It looked so real. they had a replica of the rosetta stone and the tower of babel. The building even looked like Egyptian houses.

The talent program was tonight. Brenda W got first place (her brother made the song and the music up). It was good. Michele and Ranele got second place. Their costumes were really cute - they sang "The Lonely Goatherd" from the Sound of Music.

March 10
Today was Tuesday, so I had my piano lesson. I didn't get any new songs.

I got 20/20 on the spelling test, so I got an A+.

I flunked the math test so I can't be in choir anymore. I'm kinda glad.

We got new jobs today. I have blackboards.

In PE Cindy Z's team won by 1 point. Their team hasn't lost one game.

I took a bath tonight, ate really fast, and went to the meeting with my hair all wet. bi.

March 11
Today I had to do some of my papers over for Mr. H. I have such a bad cold from Monday. It was so cold. My nose is all red and I can't breath very well.

In Home Ec., I almost finished my dress. I will in two weeks.

After school, I wanted to make my granny hat, but I forgot my sewing machine, so I went to school to get it, boy was Billy H mad. I said "hi" he said, "what do you want?" I walked in and got the machine and walked out.

I went to the meeting and stupid ole Ron sat by me, so I sat by Susan (I hate him). I like my hat. I'm still wearing it. Bi.

March 12
Today, I got a B on the math test. It wasn't hard at all, even Susan got a C.

Michele was squirting me with the eyedropper, so Mr. H gave us a five hundred word theme on "how to behave in the classroom". If we misspelled even one word, we have to rewrite it 500 times. Michele stayed after school, and we were messing around with some little boys, Kevin and Ray, and we found some candy.

Today was the Bible Conference.

Everybody wants a hat like mine. I would have gone to recreation but Ron went, so I wouldn't.

March 13
Today was Friday the thirteenth and everything went wrong! We got our grades for the half quarter, I'm doing average.

In Chapel, they had a pretty good one, a guy told some stories about World War II.

After school Mr. H corrected our themes and said I copied and I didn't even see Michele's except for the last paragraph. And I told Mr. H that. And Michele almost had 5 cows. I hate her and Mr. H.

I baked a cake, but didn't put any of that old frosting on it.

At the meeting stupid Mr. H buns wouldn't let me sit in the balcony, but I did anyway. Then we went to the little kids room.

March 14
Today was church and I was superintendent. The MBA choir had a concert for church, I sat by Cheryle, it was good. After church I read the "Guide", then I read "Tom Sawyer". I asked Verna if I could read it. It's pretty good.

I frosted the cake with what little bit of sugar I had.

I started making another one of those hats, this one is reversible. I went to the little meeting "brats". I held this cute baby and he pooped and it got all over my hand. Oh well, I can't win them all. The end.

Today was Sunday, so I didn't get up early. I made that hat, but it's too big. I fed Murtle this morning, boy he sure ate a lot.

I finished reading "Tom Sawyer" and I will read "Huck Finn" next.

I made a map of National City, around where we lived and I went. Aunt Betty called today, cause it was her birthday. Mom made some bread today. It was OK.

I went to the meeting and I almost fell asleep, but I made it through.

I had some popcorn tonight, and I read "Sisters"

We are studying square roots in school. They're not that bad.

I convinced Mr. H into letting me go to choir. We have to sing at S church on the 4th of April. We saw a movie on the life of John Glenn, it was pretty good.

We started tumbling (gymnastics) in PE. So far, it's not too bad.

I'm reading "Huck Finn", at home now, but it's not as good as Tom Sawyer.

I went to Pathfinders tonight, I made a bear in soap craft. Michle made a real nice thing, a vest like thing, it's pretty. Bi.

Today was the last day until Spring vacation. Yippie!!!

Today was the first day of Spring Vacation (whoopie). I went to the eyeball doctor and I have to get new glasses - I'm getting round ones.

I read Huck Finn and put away stamps, then I played with Murtle.

I went to the meeting tonight. I sat with Debra. I also watched a movie on drugs, it was ok.

March 19
Today was Natalie's birthday (my cousin), I wonder if she had fun? I put away stamps this morning and read "Huck Finn"

I went skating this afternoon, but it got boring, so I played the piano.

Elder C (Duane), came to OUR house to talk to grandma.

He was at recreation, but I didn't go, I went to buy groceries.

March 20
Today was Friday, I put away stamps all morning, and cleaned my room. I wrote to somebody in Burma too.

Today was grandma and grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary. When grandma got her hair done (she thought mom was going to work), we fixed up the table real nice and pretty. When grandma came into the house we snapped a picture. She sure was surprised, she wasn't expecting anything. We had a big meal and grandma sure enjoyed herself.

I went to the meeting tonight, my 11th, but I didn't get my Bible. I helped babysit.

March 21
Today was Saturday, and at church we found out all about Easter and Christmas, it was interesting.

This afternoon, I put some wildlife seals in a booklet, and wrote to a girl in India, but the Post Office was closed, so I hope she gets it pretty soon.

I went to the meeting and I got my "Good News for Modern Man" Bible.

I babysat the little kids, they were a little better, but they were about 12 babysitters, it's kinda maddening.

March 22
This morning, I made some biscuits. I ate all of them except one. I let grandpa have it.

I fed Murtle, she ate quite a bit.

This afternoon, we went to the Village Faire. It was blah! Then we went all over.

Tonight I didn't go to the meeting, cause stupid old grandpa wanted the radio and I didn't want to bring it down, because I knew there wasn't any news on so my parents had a cow, so I HAD to bring it down. He only listened to it for one minute! (it was kinda funny, but I was MAD)

March 23
Today we had to go back to school. Yuck!

It was blah (like everything else, nothing exciting or anything).

The public schools got to go to Spring vacation this week. How maddening. and we 3,6,8th grades have to take a big old math test to see if they should get new math books.

I went to Pathfinders and old Ron kept hanging around me. I told him to leave me alone. I also made a kite.

I like Stephen (he's cute). The pastor's son. They say he's "holy", but I don't think so. I talked to Otis too, even if I did have a stupid dream about him.

March 24
Today was Tuesday, so I had to have piano, yuck. I can't wait until the new teacher, named Kelly, comes. I hope he's good.

During reading, I went to get my new glasses, they are yuck, but I'll get used to them.

We had a test in History, yuck.

I went to the meeting tonight and I took Murtle and Cheryle took JR - he's a different kind of turtle than mine.

March 25
Today was Wednesday and Jerry D had worship.

I bought my lunch today, they had spaghetti and the rest.

In Home Ec. I finished my dress, except for the button holes. I would have had that done if Mrs. F hadn't made me put cloth under it (dumb). I made my kite tonight, but I didn't fly it.

March 26
Today was Thursday and we have to have a math test tomorrow (yuck).

We have to have skill tests in PE. Yuck.

I flew my kite. I mean Otis did, but I couldn't help it, Stupid old Ron had to be there too. I WISH HE WOULD LEAVE ME ALONE!

My kite flies ok.

I went to recreation and played ping pong. I almost won Jerry D 8-21 that was pretty close, not like 1-21 like the rest.

Ron and Otis say Ernie broke a lock so Mrs. R said she's going to quit the church (I bet Ron did it).

March 27
Today was Jerry D's last time for the meetings at our school.

We had that math test and nobody (I hope) knew how to do the second part, so I flunked.

Today was Friday, so I baked a cake, but dad didn't get any frosting, so I had to use that other junk.

I went to the meeting tonight, and I like Billy H again, he's cute, at least he talks to me.

My grandmother was baptized tonight. She was kinda scared.

I was right, Ron did break the lock (so did Otis). Otis appologized to my dad, but stupid old Ron didn't.

March 28
Today we had communion service. I did it with my mom. the new church choir sang. I kinda wanted to be in it, but I forgot and I thought it was for older folks, but it's not, so I might join.

I read my new Bible and finished Matthew. It's pretty good.

I went to the meeting tonight and played with the brats. I sat by Chet (a friend) and Tony a brat said we were getting married, etc. and then this bratty kid named Cheryle kept hanging on me.

I got the Uke (Ukelele) tonight! Melody, a girl, is a friend of mine all the sudden. I went to the last part of "Zebra in Kitchen", it was OK.

March 29
Today I got up early because of the kite flying contest. I had fun there. I went over with Michele.

I had to get Elder D's hat for he can't leave that. I won third place in the 3 foot and over ages 13-15, because only 4 participated and Cheryle's kite broke. My bow string stretched so it didn't fly very good. So I had to get 3rd. There were some unusual kites there.

Mr. H probably sold our house, we went to C today to see him. I saw Freddy P and he laughed because I used to write to him. How dumb (he's cute). I went to the meeting tonight.

March 30
I had to go back to school again. yuck! I got 60 on the the match test - so I got a C, I was lucky.

My dad got me a radio from the D. It works ok. I can play the Uke better now.

I flew my kite today, and the string broke, so me and Ranele went after it, we had fun in the old lady's yard. We found the kite on the top of a big tree. I'll make another one probably.

I was reading "Dunbars Cove". It's real good. I got to borrow Sue's Uke. I like to play it, it's cool.

Today was Sunday. I put away stamps all morning. In the afternoon we went and I got my jumper pattern for Home Ec. The material I got is wide wale corderoy - off white color. Real cool. Then we went to Eureka Canyon, where we used to live, and got some ferns. After we got home, I put away some more stamps. Then I went to Sue's and watched Walt Disney. It was sure good.

Sorry I didn't write yesterday, I keep forgetting.

I'm sick of Cheryle, she goes around shoving everybody.

We are having a math test tomorrow - yeck! I'm getting an A- in spelling and a B+ in English.

In PE we played basketball. It's yeck - especially with Kim, she says she's resigning (yeah!).

Tonight was Parent Teacher Association (PTA). They had a program for veterans and Americans. The youngest member in the family had to put a sticker on their parents. I was the oldest one there. After that we played basketball. It was fun.

February 4
We got out of having our math test - thank goodness. In Home Ec we cut our patterns. I cut mine wrong, so now I have to have a seam down the back. It's going to look funny. We had drill day in PE (Halleluja). I made a basket from way back. Boy was I surprised. I was the only one that did.

I rode the bus tonight. Cheryle makes me SICK.

A new boy came to school today. His name is Steve. He's in the seventh grad. I think he's cute.

Our teacher was sick today, so we had Mrs. O. We had a fifteen minute break between Religion and math and we aren't supposed to have any. I couldn't find my suit, so I didn't do PE.

On the way home, Corkey asked me if I was going to the banquet. I said yes. He asked with whom. I said "myself". Then he asked how many were going in our class and if there were any couples. I said "one".

Today was Friday. Out teacher was back today. In assembly today, the new boy's dad (Steve) spoke. He's the pastor of the S church. The last pastor's sons name was Steve too and he was in the same grade.

We had a real neat basketball game for PE today. Girls against the boys. Mr. H was on our side - we won.

I baked a cake this afternoon. Half with frosting and half without, because my parents are on a diet. My dad doesn't like it.

February 7
Today I went to church and I sat by Mr. Mc.

This afternoon, I went with the Pathfinders on a hike from Rio Del Mar beach to MBA which is 6 miles. We ran for about a mile. So I'm pretty sore.

We had worship, then ate popcorn, banana marshmallow's which was horrid, and hot chocolate. After that we ditched the group and went to spy on the boys, it was scary, but fun. We saw Ron (yuck) and we got scared and ran away screaming. He said he was just as scared, because he went running down the hill too.

February 8
Today was Sunday, and I read books all morning. In the afternoon, my parents went to town. My mom got a new dress and sweater. I haven't gotten one thing all this school year. All my friends have, and it makes me mad.

This afternoon, I went horseback riding with Sue. Cheryle was there (she ruins everything). We rode Seneca, a black horse. She's very pretty.

We watched the last part of Smoke. It was good. He ran away with Smoke and slept in a barn because the owner claimed him. The horse caught on fire and then he remembered his real father. He came back home though. It was good.

February 9
Today we had our test in Religion. I hope I get a good grade. I don't know any of the memory verses. We got our report cards today. I got good grades. 3 A's no C's or D's.

In Pathfinders, I had to play the National Anthem. It was Blah. We got in a fight with stupid Old Mrs. C. (I hate her). We got a new counselor. She's REAL NICE (I like her).

Stupid Ole Ron said he want to go steady. I HATE HIM. Well, I like Corkey (ha ha). Bi.

February 10
Today was my piano lesson. It's getting better. She said that Donna, Jackie, and I could join the 9th and 10th grade choir for a special program.

I can't stand Corkey. I'll just like him for a friend from now on.

The banquet is February 17 and our field trip is March 16. Bi.

I had to play the piano today because Pam was sick. Donna, Jackie and I went to choir. It was OK. Mr H said I couldn't do it if I didn't bring up my grade in math in three weeks. I got a C, that's average. Oh Well. Today was Home Ec. I sewed the darts on my dress today.

We had fun at PE. It was Wanda, Michele and me against Sandy, Barbra, and Yvonne. It was funny. We won it. It was the best game, because Kim wasn't there.

Ron gave me a poem. It was embarassing.

Today was Friday (finally). We had a party for Valentine's Day. It was OK. I brought candy hearts. This morning I had to play the piano (yuck). During the party we played basketball and played on the ropes.

Well tomorrow, I go to Donna's.

I read Jean and Johnny. It was so good. I think it pertains to me because I'm 5 feet tall and she was 5'1''. I hated Johnny after I found out what he was like and I liked Homer. He's a good guy.

Today was church. I went to the W church with Jackie. EW had the sermon. I went to Donna's house afterwards (for a slumber party - it was Donna's birthday). Doug (Donna's brother) was going to show me the paint he was going to use for the costume party, dropped it, and got it all over my pretty green dress. Most of it came out.

Tonight was the costume party. I was a doll with pink cheeks. It was a pretty good party. Debra and I went to the gym to get some things. At 11:40, all of us girls with our PJ's on (pajamas) went to get taco's at Taco Bell. We had a lot of fun. When we saw this boy and girl, we yelled out "we understand".

February 15
At 3:15 a.m. we played "Funnybones" a real cool game, then we ate potato chips and dip. This morning we had waffles and cherries. MMM. At 10 and 10:30, we went to play tennis. It was fun, until we got sick of it. We stayed until 1:00. Denise, a girl at the party, is going to make me a vest for $3.00. It's her project for a charity. She'll make it brown.

Today was piano lesson. I got a new, really hard song for the fourth grade level, and I'm in the third year.

In choir, Mrs. P gave us a lecture on long-haired music, etc.

Michele curled my hair for the banquet, but it didn't turn out (naturally). We had a blast. My date was Sam (aka Kathy) (her nickname is Sammy). MBA was our entertainment. It was Really good. The food was yuck.

February 18
Today in Home Ec, I almost finished my dress. I only have to hem it.

In worship, Mr. H said he gave WE his entree (from the banquet last night) and EW is sick today.

In PE I got hit really hard in the nose and that smarts. It still aches.

Surprise! Corkey said Hi. I said I wasn't going to say Hi, unless he said it first.

I took Murtle (my turtle) to school. I guess he had fun (after school).

February 19
Guess what I got on my math test? I got 90%. Surprise! Mrs. P told us a story about a piano. It was good. She showed us a picture of it and how it sounds. The keyboard was from the pole from Solomon's temple. It sounds like a harp and is elaborately carved.

In PE we only had two of us girls on our team to seven on the other team. Mr. Mc helped. Boy they were sure rough.

Dad played "Finance" (The same as Monopoly). It was fun. I won.

Today I had to play the piano at church as usual. I made a lot of mistakes, as usual too.

This afternoon I took Murtle out to take a sun bath while I read the youth magazine from church. All she did was hide in the grass. Once I peeked in on her and she was watching me. So I brought her in. She's under my pillow now.

I watched a movie at school "Billie's Desk" I have seen it before. It's about 30 years old (1930's or so). They also showed "Run Appolusa Run". It was exciting.

February 22
Today was Sunday. I wrote to the Zoo Society in San Diego asking them what to feed my turtle. I put away the books in my new bookshelf. Guess what! My turtle (Murtle) decided she was hungry and ate all of her food. I even had to give her more! It was sure happy (I guess the exercise does her good).

I went to S to help decorate the hall for tomorrow night. I walked home with Michele and Ranele

I went to Sue's house to watch "Born Free" and Glen Campbell. He'ls so cute.

Today is Washington's Birthday and we went and put our house up for sale.

Then we went to Vessly's and I got my pattern. Then we went to the pet shop and got a thing for Murtle - a tank like thing with a pool etc.

This afternoon we went back there and got some rocks and a bridge for Murtle. My brother wanted to get a desert tortoise, but you can't buy them. I went with mom to the lab (where she works). I stayed for two hours and called for dad to pick me up.

The Pathfinder thing was tonight, but we didn't go.

Today we were supposed to get a new girl (she was at church). Her name is Sherie. She also has reddish hair, like Jimmy. He can't wait to see her. She's kinda cute, with really nice clothes.

In music, Mrs. P was sick, so we didn't have choir. Mr. H didn't know it so we had a 45 minute free period.

I guess Murtle likes her new home.

I washed my hair tonight (it needs it).

Today was Wednesday. I'm off a day someplace in here (this diary). Oh well, I never win.

Today Mr. H was in a BAD mood. The gang had to stay in their seats ALL day. And then Mr. H bawled them out. Now they can't talk or be together on the school grounds.

In music we had another free period with nobody there.

We had game day. We almost won Cherie's team (16 to 18).

I looked up my information on Heaven. I hope they like it.

Today I had to play the piano at church and I had the opening prayer (as usual). I had the lesson study on Heaven. It was OK.

I went for a drive today, because Ole Ron keeps calling me up and I HATE THE STUPID BXXXXXX. He called once when I was home and I wouldn't answer, so my brother hung up on him. He called again, and my brother hung it up. He makes me SICK. There was skating tonight. It was ok.

January 1970

January 1, 1970
I started the new year off with a bang. I had my first baby sitting job last night. My teacher's kids. I got $4.00. I stayed there until 12:30.

I made some pumpkin pies this morning for my brother's birthday. He wasn't here on his birthday. He was at Paradise with his friend John. He's coming home today.

My Aunt Betty went home today - she came for the holidays.

January 2
I didn't do much today. I mostly put away stamps in my new stamp book. I made a pie crust for Grandma.

My brother came home today, instead of yesterday. He had a lot of fun.

I read magazines all afternoon.

January 3
Today I went to church. We had a riot there. When we came home, I read the youth magazine we got there. After that I put some stamps away until now 10:00. Well good-nite.

January 4
This morning I put away some more stamps. This afternoon we went to the Village Faire antique mall. I didn't get anything, but my mom got something for the people my brother stayed with.

Tonight my grandmother went to the hospital because she's getting very weak. The doctor doesn't think it's anything.

Oh-h-h- tomorrow I have to go to school.

January 5
Today I had to go back to school. It was OK. Tw girls ran away from school and they didn't go home. I don't like them very well anyway.

I put some more stamps away today.

My grandmother was doing OK. Till tonight. She went to the bathroom all over the hospital room.

Tonight I got some new shoes. They're real cool. They're slip-ons with a chain decoration. I also got a pair of coulotte pajamas. They're real cool too. Good Night.

January 6
Today we had a test in Religion - on Chapter 3 in the Bible, and this afteroon on History.

January 7
Today was EW'as birthday (teacher). I HAD to sign his card, but they forced me.

In Home Ec. we are starting sewing. It's kinda fun.

We went grocery shopping tongiht and I got my cat (Babe's) a toy - it's a clown face. Boy does she ever like it. It's a styrofoam ball and it already has holes where she bit it.

Also, in school, we had to write an invitation to somebody and we had to answer the one we got.

We also had a math test - on angles and planes. I bet I flunked.

January 8
It's raining today, and my specks (glasses) get all wet.

I kinda like Steve W - just for a friend. He's supposed to get me a picture of himself tomorrow. He's tall and in the 7th grade. He was my boyfriend when I was in the fifth grade. We used to hold hands on the bus.

Mr G. (teacher) gave me a St. Christopher today, it's kinda cheap, but it's from him (so what can you expect).

I got 65 on my math test. I have to do it over because Donna got 100%, so I got a D. I did better than a whole lot of the kids; the majority. Well, Good-nite.

January 9
Today it rained again. Didn't do much. In Reading we played a real fun game. You pick a topic - book, song, or saying and somebody else had to work it out until they got it. There were some pretty good ones.

In History we saw a movie on the Mayflower the II, it was good.

We went for a drive tonight along the beach. It's sure pretty. Everything is black except the whitecaps. Then we went to the University. Well, good nite.

January 10
Today I went to church as usual. In the lesson part, we chose our books for participation. I chose "Lydia a Seller of Purple". It was good, exept it wasn't about Lydia in the Bible. It was about another Lydia.

Tonight they had skating. It was a blast. First two people skate, then they choose a partner. Mark chose me, then I chose Doug, a little brat (Donna's brother), then Jon chose me. Later on they had skating by couples. I skated with Corkey (Larry). There were only three couples skating. I kinda like him. He's in the 9th grade. He has black hair. He isn't very cute, but he is very nice. I hope I go to the banquet with him.

January 11
Today is Sunday, I never do much unless my mom is here. She works every other Sunday.

I read a book, put away stamps, and did my school work.

I don't like Corkey as well, but I still like him for a friend, and want to go to the banquet with him. The banquest is February 14.

January 12
Today we had a Religion test. I missed the third one.

I did my math test over. The first time I did worse - I got 60 and then I did it over and got 85.

In Pathfinders (a youth club similar to Girl/Boy Scouts), I finished my purse in leather craft - all I have to do is lace it together.

Michele was mad at me all day and I got 3 new sheet music at piano (lesson).

January 14
Today we had a Religion test. I hope I got a good grade.

We had Home Ec today and I finished everything but two things. The French seam and flat fell seam.

After Physical Education (P.E.), I waved to Corkey and told him "hi". He said "Hello". I haven't talked or waved to him since Saturday night at skating.

I put away some stamps tonight. I have two books now. My dad bought it with a whole lot of stamp's he bought. It is the one I was going to get, but didn't. Good nite.

I still hope I get to go to the banquet with Corkey.

January 15
We were supposed to have a math test today, but we didn't.

I'm mad at Corkey.

When I got home, I put away stamps, that's all I ever do.

Michele came over tonight. They were fixing up the gym.

I don't want to go to the banquet this year. It's too formal.

It's raining again.

Sorry I didn't write yesterday. I forgot. I started reading the Book of Daniel in the Bible. It's OK.

Tonight they had a carnival. It was OK. They showed a movie on the Tetons. It was good.

Would you believe I like Corkey again? I really like him now.

January 18
Today was Sunday. I copied some songs from a book about the Beatles. Then we went to the Village Faire, as usual. We went grocery shopping also. I got a record. "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" by B.J. Thomas. I also got a photo album for my pictures.

Tonight I went to Sue's and watched Walt Disney. It was "Bon Voyage" about this family, they take a trip to France. It's real funny.

January 19
I took my Religion test over today. I got 83, pretty good. Before I got 53.

My brother got mad at me and said I took a blue box from him. I don't know anything about it, neither does Michele or Ranele.

Tonight was Pathfinders. Michele's mother is our leader now. Thank God it's not Dr. S. E.D. was there. He's going to be our graduation speaker. Yeah! I'm almost finished with the leather purse I'm making for leather craft.

January 20
Today, I had piano lesson, yuck.

Ray, who burned his back last week, had to have a tetanus shot and pain pills. I sure feel sorry for him, because mine were taken care of. (I burned my knees really bad last Fall).

Hurray! Larry got kicked out of school for having cigarettes on him. He does everything with the girls. I wonder how many kids he has?

I got a compass tonight and some acne pimple pads. I like it OK. Better than Clearasil. Well good night.

January 21
Today we had Home Ed. Our machine wasn't working and I tried and tried to fix it, but I couldn't get it to work. The teacher came over and said it was OK, but it still didn't work. I was so mad I was bawling.

We went shopping tonight and I got some clothes. Nity Nite.

January 22
Today was Thursday. Nothing happened. Today in PE we had a good game in basketball. Our side won three games. After school, I read "Margie Asks Why" It's sure good.

Well, goodnite.

January 23
Today we saw a movie "The Anatomy of an Accident" It was terrible!

Mr. H (our teacher) got his game and if we get it, we get an A in math for the rest of the year. I sure hope I get it.

Tonight we went for a drive. It was OK.

January 24
Today was church. I had to give the lesson - it was horrible.

They showed a movie tonight - it was about the Little League. It was real good.

But I HATE CORKEY.

January 25
Mom quit her job at the hospital, so she was home today. I put away stamps all morning. We didn't go to the Village Faire today.

We went to Sue's house tonight to watch Walt Disney. It was the last part of "Bon Voyage". It was good. We also watched Bill cosby. It's real good. So was the half of Bonanza that we watched.

January 26
Today I got that math test back. I got 25. See I told you I flunked.

We saw a movie for PE. It was OK.

Tonight was Pathfinders. I was looking at my trophy (I mean their's) and old Mrs. B had a cow and said it was theirs. I was so MAD. I hate every last one of those creeps. I only stay there because I want to finish my purse. I'm done except for a finish. Thank God.

Nite

Note - I won the trophy for the club for a special "drill down" at a regional club event. It was a second place trophy. When I moved away - I asked if I could take it - and it was given to me - I still have it.

January 27
We were supposed to have a math test today, but he forgot.

In PE I stepped on Jody's shoe by accident and he started dragging me, then Nancy and Cindy B, then everybody joined in - they almost gave me a shower and threw my dress in the boy's restroom. I was kinda mad.

We bought groceries tonight and I got a Simplicity Magazine.

January 28
Today we started our mid-term tests in math. yuck.

In Home Ed we finished our booklets on sewing. Next week, we start cutting our material.

I still don't like Corkey, maybe for a friend. February 12 is the banquet. I hope I'm not going.

January 29
We finished our mid-term tests in math today. Well, so far I've gotten a C in math (surprise). A C in Religion, and a D in Living, which ain't too cool.

We also had our mid-term in History. I got a pretty good grade I think. It was so easy.

I had to referee in basketball, but Mr Mc (teacher) helped - thank goodness.

I got my new shoes tonight. First we went to Penny's. They had nothing. We went home, thought of Kinney's and went there. They're real cool black patent leather with brown trim.

January 30
Today we chose new class officers. I have to be pianist (yuck).

This girl named Debbie came to our school today. She is real pretty and has long hair down to her bottom. It's real pretty.

I got 32 over 36 on my mid term test in History and 24 over 50 on the math test. Oh well, Donna got a C, so I think I did good.

I baked a lemon cake today. It fell off again. Oh well, can't win them all.

January 31
Today was church. I had to play the piano. I sure made a lot of mistakes.

I read all afternoon. They showed a movie on Franz Lizt it was yuck.

Don and Ron were trying to steal money from Corkey's parent's car and his mom asked them what their names were and Don said Don " "(her last name). Boy was she mad! I think they are getting kicked out of school - because they are still over there at the school and it's 10:45. So I kinda feel sorry for them.
